About Us
History
Kurdistan, is the land without frontiers, it goes without saying, that country inhabited by the Kurds. Based on this premise, we decided to do something for Kurds around the world. We are establishing an international society for Kurds, called "Kurdish Society for Information Science & Technology (KSIST)". We have no political affiliations. We invite Kurds' information professional to join KSIST (Kurdish Society for Information Science & Technology).
KSIST was founded on September 7, 2011. It was an initiative of Dr. Alireza Noruzi, a Kurdish information scientist.
Mission of KSIST
The mission of KSIST is:
- to introduce, promote, and implement information and communication technologies (ICT) in Kurdistan's regions (the Kurdish regions of Iraq, Iran, Turkey, Syria, Azerbaijan, Armenia, Georgia, Russia, and Lebanon);
- to advance information sciences in Kurdistan; and
- to support information professionals and organizations in these regions.
